The Walid Maalouf Foundation was established June 2007. It is an educational non-religious, non-sectarian and non-political organization. Its primary objectives are to help needy Lebanese students reach their educational goals from first grade to high school; to help build a library and an international center with easy access for every Lebanese child; to provide the necessary support for families to encourage reading in the home. We have named this foundation after the Honorable Walid Maalouf because he himself was a recipient of a full scholarship, which was a turning point in his life. He became an example of perseverance, hope, and a future of a promising Lebanon. The logo of the foundation represents the link between the donors and the projects as illustrated in its three columns and the olive leaves. The left column is the project, the right column is the donor and the middle column is the Maalouf Foundation linking them together through the abundance of the olive tree which is one of Lebanon's important symbols. |
